Provides comprehensive and specialized logistics and transportation engineering functions, assists with serving as a lead to staff and leads or coordinates various projects or functions. Performs activities that involve the application of more comprehensive to specialized engineering principles and practices, developing metrics and proposals, and coordinating internal resources as required. Trains, develops and mentors logistics staff to include on the job training, assisting with prioritizing and assigning work, and providing work direction.
Serves as a lead to staff which includes prioritizing and assigning work and providing work direction.
Develops proposals or reports to outline current or proposed engineered designs, layouts, capacity, equipment, and operations; operations are specialized and comprehensive in nature.
Prepares presentations for senior management regarding recommendations of studies and projects; may assist with presenting information.
Reviews and responds to specialized and comprehensive internal or external customer requests which includes applying engineering principles, drafting responses and outlines, and other professional support.
Oversees and/or develops standard operating procedures, work instructions, and related materials.
Leads the planning or outline of work, time, and efficiency studies, talks with supervisors and employees, and discusses with customers to apply and monitor operations.
Leads or coordinates cost models, assumptions and risks for projects that are large in scope.
Coordinates technical internal resources to respond to internal or external customer requests, such as determining types of teams or projects required, allocating questions to staff, and overseeing the gathering of responses.
Develops specialized or more comprehensive metrics and goals for programs, oversees performance, and works with staff when potential problems are identified to bring to resolution.
Oversees the technical communication with internal or external customers, to include potentially serving as a customer contact on overall performance, sensitive or specialized issues, and facilitating communications with management.
Ensures processes and operations complies with applicable laws, rules and regulations; assists with interpretation within area and applies across operations.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Overseeing and ensuring the accuracy of specialized databases through auditing, reviews, and analysis.
Assisting with applying applicable laws, rules and regulations and ensuring compliance across operations.

Developing comprehensive analytics, reports and communications within engineering.
Overseeing customer and operational communications and interaction.
Overseeing the development of metrics and measurements for engineering programs.
Training and mentoring staff and providing work direction.
Communicating more specialized and comprehensive engineering information.
Operating in a both a team and individual contributor environment.
Overseeing change management activities to Identify, communicate, and resolve potential operational or analytical concerns.
Developing and delivering specialized engineering reports and presentations.
Facilitating communication cross customers, operations and other groups.
Travel is required at least 10% of the time in this position.
